Outkast Vs. Smashing Pumpkins
DJ Wick It chills out Outkast's Bombs Over Baghdad by mashing it up with Smashing Pumpkins' Drown. The unexpected soundbite at the end is hilarious too.

Lunar Hip Hop
Max Tannone has done it again! Inspired by the sci-fi movie Moon, the beatmaker teams up with Brooklyn rapper Richard Rich. His lyrics explore themes ranging from isolation to cloning.

Everlasting Shine Blockaz
Ten days ago I posted the Wick It mixtape mashing up The Black Keys and Big Boi. Now we got a video to go along with "Everlasting Shine Blockaz." Big Boi is currently touring with The Black Keys. A collaboration seems inevitable.

Santogold & Diplo: Guns of Brooklyn
It's time to get lovey dubby with "Guns of Brooklyn" from the highly recommended Diplo and Santogold Top Ranking mixtape. I also suggest checking out Diplo's Mad Decent Worlwide Radio via Itunes. It's free and good for your ears.

The Pharcyde- Runnin' RMX
Tight remix by the Phillipians. Elements from the original are present from start to finish and the spacey electro programming fits in perfectly with the pensive lyrics.

J. Dilla drops the best verse on his own beats in which he samples the drums off "Prince's She's in My Hair."

J. Dilla: Still Shining
The exceptional documentary film "Still Shining" directed by Brian Atkins celebrates J. Dilla's legacy. The footage, filmed at the time of the funeral, reveals Dilla's dedication to his craft and loved ones and collaborators' appreciation and awe. I particurlarly enjoyed ?uestLove's take on Dilla's musical phases and the portion comparing J.Dilla as a producer and as a MC.
Dilla's mother sets the tone with these words:
Dilla's mother sets the tone with these words:
This was his wish during his illness, that he be able to give his gift to the world. He was able to live long enough to give the gift back and it will last a lifetime.
Below is J. Dilla's Love(A thing of the past) which samples Patrice Rushen's Before the Dawn. A song that Dilla probably heard for the first time as a kid in the company of his mom.

Storytellers: Murs and Slug
It's hard to believe this is the first time I do an Atmosphere/Felt post. Fun facts: Murs' real name is Nick Carter and his rap name is an acronym with multiple meanings such as "Making Underground Raw Shit."
Murs and Slug are underrated story tellers. They rap about daily struggles, loved ones and their respective hometowns of LA(Murs) and Minneapolis(Slug). Just listen to these tracks.

Swollen Members: In For the Kill
Vancouver natives, Swollen Members, remix La Roux's In for the Kill. I've read that it will be the first track on their upcoming album "Daggermouth." I've also read that it won't be featured on the album.
This remix is stellar and brings me back to college days of listening to Swollen Member's "Balance" and "Bad Dreams."
Two Dope Boyz, Two Dope Remixes
The Polish Ambassador brings us two dope remixes of Outkast's Wheels of Steel. They're both catchy, one has the bass thumping and the other is 7 minutes long and trancey. Neither sound like the original. The man responsible for these remixes puts it best:
It's only natural that outkast get up in the remix action. These are some of the more innovative cats in the spotlight today, but you already know that. Always impressed with what they bring to the table, which is why they get "the royal treatment." That sounded sexual. Here's the remix of Wheels of Steel. Completely different from the original, cut, diced, electrofied. with some boomin' bass. Hells. Yes.Stay tuned for more electro inspired remixes.

202 Beatdrops: DC Nostalgia
Summertime in Panama is great but I miss DC. I am watching the 2001 NBA All Star game which was held in DC. And the Wizards finally got that road win in Cleveland after going 0-25. It's time to reminisce over some Wale. Amazing lyricist. Haha they just had Kobe do the play by play in Italian.

The Black Keys and Big Boi Blender
DJ Wick-it's mixtape The Brothers of Chico Dusty mashes up two of 2010's best albums: The Black Keys' Brothers and Big Boi's Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty. Wick-It undoubtfully drew inspiration from the Damon Dash orchestrated hip hop project Blakroc starring The Black Keys and featuring rappers such as Mos Def, Raekwon and Q-Tip. The Black Keys are currently working on the sequel, this time teaming up with the likes of Jay Electronica, Wiz Khalifa and The Cool Kids. Ugandan Reggae Hip Hop
My Ugandan friend Chris, also known as Salsa King in Panama, shared this track with me. Perfect for the tropics and to evade "chismosos" (gossipy people). So yeah, mind your business and live and let live!

Black Milk: Turn up the Bass
Black Milk's self proclaimed "Album of the Year" delivers quality from start to finish. Even with crazy drums as heard on "Keep Going", he finds himself hovering under the radar. The drums are on point and perhaps the album title was as well.
